The City On The Lake
Lake Andes is a diverse community lying on the southwest shore of Andes Lake, a body of water twelve miles long and one and one-half miles wide. The area around Andes Lake became one of the most popular fishing and hunting resort areas in the state after the town was founded in 1904.

The City of Lake Andes is a small community with over forty businesses and a current population of 832 people. The city is known for its mainly agricultural economy, National Wildlife Refuges and proximity to the magnificent Fort Randall Dam and Missouri River.

Charles Mix County Seat
As County Seat, Lake Andes serves the needs of over 9000 people. Being the administrative center of twenty four townships, Lake Andes is home to the Charles Mix County Courthouse.
